Farmer trainings

Practical, field-based training delivered by SOZO agronomists throughout the Season A and Season B calendars. Sessions are free for farmers buying certified seed and are hosted at the nearest demonstration plot.

• Maize agronomy masterclass - variety choice, spacing, fertiliser scheduling, harvesting and drying.
• Vegetable production & nursery management - seedbed preparation, transplanting, staking and grading.
• Integrated pest management - fall armyworm scouting, safe spraying and protective equipment.
• Climate-smart farming - drought-tolerant varieties, mulching, minimum tillage and water harvesting.
• Post-harvest handling & storage - moisture testing, hermetic bags and aflatoxin prevention.
• Farming as a business - record keeping, costing, cooperative marketing and market linkages.
